Card Making- How To Keep Card Looking “Fresh”

Published by mstewart at 10:03 pm under Paper Crafts Edit This

I just finished making some card and a couple of them look.. well a little worse for wear. They don look damaged or dirty or anything. They don’t look fresh an d”new” - bit like they have been over handled.

Here are some tips for making cards and keeping them looking fresh and neat and gift ready.

- Make sure you work are is CLEAN. If you are working on a table clear off and wipe down- make sure table is dry to paper won’t stick to damp spots. Nothing like a bit of spaghetti sauce or juice to destroy your hard work.

- Make sure your supplies are organized- you dont; want a bunch of glitter flying out and all over your table I had to redo card tonight when some green glitter fell on a sympathy card I was making.

- Keep it simple. Don’t try an do every technique on your card. The more stuff you add- chalk, glue, glitter, ink, pencil, etc the more chance for stuff getting smeared. if you must- work in stages and clean up between each stage.

- Here is my best tip- if you make a mistake- try an live with it! Trying to peel off a sticker or something you have glued or reposition an embellishment will give your card a picked over appearance.
